With surrounding
neighborhoods catering to either the young urban professional or art
aficionado, the new Fusion Lofts in downtown Columbus, Ohio will introduce
a fresh design concept that blends the sophistication and style of each
of these target tenants.
This new, freestanding 20-unit apartment building includes New York-style
loft apartments on the top three floors and restaurant/retail tenant
space on the ground floor. The 40,000 s.f. building also includes a
full basement with dedicated storage and parking for the tenants.
The design of the exterior façade uses materials representing
both targeted user groups. Traditional brick detailing was selected
to represent the professional group and curtainwall with metal sliding
for the edgy artistic crowd. Interior spaces will also reflect a chic,
modern lifestyle through the use of tinted concrete floors, exposed
masonry accent walls, exposed structure and PME systems, and trimless
interior detailing. In each apartment, a movable built-in storage wall
will serve as a room divider for flexible living space.
