Elementary School:

With five elementary schools in poor condition, the community decided to close all elementary schools and build a new one-story facility that would house all 1,100 students. Yet, they also wanted to maintain a small school atmosphere.

In response, TRIAD developed the schoolhouse concept that consists of six classroom wings connected by a main corridor. Each house structure accommodates one grade level.

To help direct students, each wing features a different color so that students are aware that they have entered another grade level area. In addition, architectural elements are painted to match the classroom color scheme and to brighten the space.

High School:

With a strong community desire for a central campus, the new Rock Hill High School was located adjacent to a renovated middle school and the new elementary school, creating a cohesive and attractive educational campus.

While an ideal location, a severe slope on the site demanded a creative design. Our architects had to carefully plan the building's site in relation to student and bus access, parking and athletic fields, while working with less than ideal grading.

To accommodate both an auditorium and a cafeteria, the facility's auditeria provides a stage with theatrical sound and lighting, access to dressing rooms and a scene shop for theater and performance space. Vocal and instrumental music rooms are conveniently located near the auditeria and gymnasium for easy access. The auditeria is also designed for student dining services.
