BLACKLICK CREEK WALKWAY
New Construction
Walkway and Observation Deck

Owner: Reynoldsburg/Pickerington Rotary Club of Central Ohio

Total Area: 3,425 S.F.

Location: Reynoldsburg, Ohio

Designed for group instruction and personal reflection, this walkway and observation deck, located along the banks of Blacklick Creek in Columbus, Ohio, has been commissioned by the Reynoldsburg/Pickerington Rotary Club of Central Ohio in celebration of Rotary International's centennial birthday in 2005.

The meandering walkway will guide visitors along an existing pedestrian/bike path that will rise gradually to reach the observation deck. Along the way, visitors can sit on benches or stop at several points to read about surrounding natural features. Upon reaching the observation deck, magnificent views of the creek abound. Benches welcome visitors to sit and listen to natural history lectures on Blacklick Creek's formation and tenuous future.

The observation deck will be developed as a kit, including precut and prefabricated pieces. This will allow for field assembly by volunteer Rotarians, creating a sense of pride and ownership in the project.
