DELAWARE COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY
Library Interior Renovation
Delaware, Ohio

Client: Delaware County District Library

Total Area: 40,678 S.F.

Total Cost: $800,000

The Delaware County District Library, with TRIAD Architects, successfully updated its image, improved circulation and increased volume and overall productivity, all while remaining open to the public. In an effort to re-brand the library, TRIAD took into consideration the demographics and preferences of patrons and created a themed interior space that focus on the unique aspects of Delaware County. Murals depicting scenes of historic Delaware first establish the community feel.

In the library's children's area, the new theme is most evident. TRIAD planned the space using the library's mascot, Dewey D. Chipmunk, as the focus. A life-like tree and scenes mimicking farms, rivers and industrial areas provide creative inspiration for children as they imagine where Dewey might be found.

From street-like signage to custom carpets resembling grass and water, every detail is designed to inspire young minds and create a sense of community throughout the library.
